The grapes for this 2023 Petit Sirah come from the San Vicente Valley in Baja California, where the combination of a warm, dry growing season and cool nighttime conditions provides an excellent environment for a naturally powerful variety such as Petit Sirah. The valley's clay and clay-loam soils, together with its semi-arid conditions, contribute to water availability and steady vine development, supporting the small, thick-skinned berries characteristic of the variety. In this setting, Petit Sirah develops remarkable color, concentrated blue and black fruit, and substantial phenolic structure, while the cooler nights help preserve the acidity needed to balance its natural richness. The resulting wine expresses the distinctive meeting point between San Vicente's warm Mediterranean character and Petit Sirah's inherently dense, dark and powerful personality.
